A self-signed certificate is a
unique
identification for the device (e.g., Vigor router) which
generates the certificate by itself to ensure the router security. Such self-signed certificate is
signed with its own private key.
The self-signed certificate can be used for services such as SSL VPN and HTTPS. In
addition, it can be created for free by using a wide variety of tools.
