5 Measuring
5.1 Conditions of the sample and practical hints
The sample must meet certain conditions in order to ensure error-free measurements:
Parameter Value
Hints
Conductivity Minimum: 20 µS
This value will always be fulfilled when used in the beverage industry .
Flow Permissible
3-18
l/h
Standard: 9-11
l/h
Ideal:
10 l/h
The flow is compensated electronically within the limits stated.
During the calibration, the flow must be between 9.1 and 10.9 l/h. Only
in this range, the calibration can be carried out correctly. This is
monitored.
Pressure Minimum: 0.1
bar
Maximum:
8 bar
Pressure peaks of up to 16 bar are permitted for short intervals.
Temperature Minimum:
0 °C
Maximum:
50 °C
Threshold value:
70 °C
Threshold value:
110 °C
(Special edition)
The temperature is compensated electronically within the limits stated.
If this temperature is exceeded, it will lead to damages of the
measuring block.
This maximum temperature constancy can be achieved with a brown
measuring block (as a special edition).
Using cleaning and disinfection agents with the
Digox 6
:
-
Using chlorine disinfection agents: depending on the existing concentration and reaction time, the
measurement of the Digox 6 is influenced by the contact of free chlorine (Cl
2
) with the measuring
electrode. In this case, please get in touch with our customer service.
-
In order to internally clean the analyser block, the Digox 6 can be rinsed through in the course of an acid
tank cleaning (cold) at the sampling tab. We recommend a monthly interval and using nitric acid-free
products.
