Keep the gas exhaust openings and the burner air
holes free of coals as much as possible.
Keep the area around the pilot free to prevent igni-
tion failure; see following figure.
6. Insert the incandescent filaments between the ash
granules. Make sure that the incandescent filaments
will be located in the flames so that these provide a
beautiful glowing effect.
The flame effect is determined in part by the way
the granules are spread over the burner surface. In
certain cases it may be necessary to change the
distribution of the ash granules by partially freeing
up several burner openings, for example, in order
to improve the flame effect.
7. Re-position all removed parts in the correct places in
the stove.
When replacing the glass pane, check that the
sealing profile is in the right place and fits properly.
The appliance is now ready for use.
Use
First use
When you use the appliance for the first time, run it at the
highest setting for a few hours and ventilate the room
adequately at the same time. This will cure the heat-res-
istant paint finish. Some white deposit may appear on the
glass and the inside. Once the appliance has cooled
down, you can easily remove this deposit with a cloth.
Clean the glass pane before using the appliance, to pre-
vent dirt from burning in.
Lighting
The gas control block is back right at the bottom of the
side wall
The pilot light is in front of the main burner and is visible
behind the cover plate at the bottom behind the glass.
1. Open the gas stop valve fitted in the gas pipe to the
appliance.
2. Turn knob A towards the ignition position from pos-
ition (1) to position (2), until the stop; see the figure
below.
3. Press knob A and hold it pressed for several
seconds. Gas now flows to the pilot flame.
4. Keep the knob pressed and turn it further to the left,
from position (2) to position (3). You hear a “click”, the
piezo element (thermocouple) has been activated and
the ignition spark plug sparks.
5. Check whether the pilot flame is burning. If not, turn
the knob back and repeat instruction step 4. Keep
knob A pressed and repeat the action until the pilot
flame is burning.
6. Keep knob A pressed for a further 20 seconds after
the pilot flame has started burning and then release
knob A calmly.
7. Turn knob A further until the end stop, from position
(2) to position (3). The gas now has access to the
main burner. Depending on the position of knob B, the
main burner will or will not ignite. After igniting the
pilot flame, check whether the main burner ignites
immediately.
If the main burner does not ignite immediately,
close the gas valve immediately and alert the
installer.
