Setting the hold tone

Using the Public Mode
<Public mode (Driving mode/Power OFF)>
The Public mode is an automatic answering service
provided to keep manner in public circumstances.
z
Public mode has the following 2 types of setting.
• Drive mode
• Power OFF
z When Public mode is set simultaneously with Voice
Mail

, Call Forwarding

, or Caller ID Request

the network services function with priority.
*1: For voice calls with any ring time other than “0
seconds”, the service functions after the Public mode
guidance.
*2: Public mode functions when the caller informs their
phone number.
z
Public mode does not function for a call from a
caller barred with Nuisance Call Blocking.
Setting to Public mode (Driving mode)
A caller hears a message that you cannot answer the
call because you are driving or you are in the place
you have to refrain from calling (on the train or bus, in
the theater, etc.).
z Public mode can only be set/released from the
standby screen. (It can also be set/released when
the “
” icon is displayed.)
z You can still make calls when the FOMA terminal is
in Public mode.
z
This function is not available during data
communication.
z When you receive a call of “User unset” while
Caller ID Request is set to “Activate”, caller ID
request message is announced. (The Public mode
message is not announced.)
