happens when the throttle “pings” the system to let the command station know
that it is still part of the system. This keeps the system from releasing that
locomotive back to the system and making it available to be selected by anoth-
er throttle.
Press and hold the
PWR
key to bring the throttle out of power save mode with-
out making any changes to throttle settings. Any key strokes or movement of
the throttle knobs will also bring the DT402/R out of power save.
Note:
Fast clock caution. If you use power save mode, the DT402’s local fast
clock copy will deviate from the LocoNet system clock. The fast clock
will re-synchronize with your LocoNet system fast clock when it is
plugged in again.
14.4 Using the DT402D Throttle in Duplex Radio Mode
There are three elements involved in duplex radio operation between the
DT402D and the UR92: Duplex Group Name, Duplex Channel, and Duplex
Group Password. These elements can be configured to provide a unique con-
nection when operating in a multisystem environment.
See the Quick Start guide on
Section 2.0
for setting up the UR 92 and Joining
the DT402D to the Duplex Group. There are several additional operation and
configuration options for the Duplex Group covered below.
14.4.1 join a Duplex Group In Duplex Radio Mode
The DT402D will remember the last Duplex Group that it joined and display
that Group Name upon startup. If the Duplex Group is available, the DT402D
will rejoin the Group. If the Group is not available, you will get an Idle screen.
To select a Group, follow these instructions
1. Make sure there is a battery installed in the DT402D. Press the
OPT / t
key. (If you are starting from the Idle screen hold the key down for 3 sec-
onds to power up the Throttle.) You will see:
2. Press the
FIND
key to display the rf search mode and scan the last active

ScanNets
will briefly appear on the display and if there is no
Group available on the last Channel used (19 in our example) you will see:
