46. Fit the rings onto the piston in the following order:
- Bottom ring (oil ring) (71).
- Central ring (scraper) (72).
- Top ring (compression) (73).
FIT THE RINGS IN SUCH A WAY
THAT THE MANUFACTURER’S
MARK IS TOWARDS THE TOP.
LUBRICATE THE PISTON AND
THE RINGS WELL WITH ENGI-
NE OIL.
47. Position:
- The ends of the rings must be staggered 120º.
POSITION THE ENDS OF THE
RINGS AT 120º FROM EACH
OTHER, AS SHOWN IN THE FI-
GURE.
48. Lubricate:
- External surface of the piston
- Rings
49. Fit:
- The piston fitting clamp (74).
