The “Quick Menu” on the VLT AQUA drive can be used to set up a closed loop program.
Press the “Quick Menus” key and enter “Q3 Function Setups”. Next go to “Q3-3 Closed Loop
Settings”. Both Q3-30 & Q3-31 will need to be gone through to complete the setup. Start by
scrolling through the parameters in “Q3-30” and enter the following values;
1-00 - Closed Loop
20-12 - PSI
(this is the unit we want to work in)
3-02 - 50
(this is the minimum allowable set-point that the drive will accept)
3-03 - 100
(this is the maximum allowable set-point that the drive will accept)
As you noted earlier, analog input 54 is set by default as the feedback input. Parameters (6-
20, 6-21, 6-24 & 6-25) are used scale the feedback terminal to match the feedback
transducer. For this lab, we will be using a potentiometer to simulate a feedback signal. With
the use of the drives in10VDC power supply, analog input 54 can be fed a signal that
varies from 0-10 volts.
Assume that we are using a real transducer that provides 2 volts at 0 PSI, and 10 volts at 100
PSI like the chart below shows. Continue on and enter the transducer values shown in the
drawing below into parameters 6-20 - 6-25.
Continue scrolling down through the menu Q3-30 and set the last two parameters.
6-00 - 10 seconds
6-01 - “Stop & Trip”
Do you know what parameters 6-00 and 6-01 are used for? ___________________________
