TYPE B - ZF
The gears are shifted automatically in
accordance with the vehicle
’
s speed.
Using the Buttons
•
1st Gear :
Operate the vehicle with the gear
shifted to this position when operating
on mud, snow, or a greatly inclined
road. The transmission continuously
maintains the 1st gear un this
position. Therefore, shift the gear shift
button to the
“
D
”
position upon
improvenments in road conditions.
•
2nd & 3rd Gear :
Operate the vehicle with the gear
shifted to this position when the
vehicle needs to be operated in a low
gear depending on the road
conditions, the number of passengers
onboard, and the traffic situations.
•
D (Drive) :
The button is used during operation of
the vehicle. The vehicle starts with the
gear positioned in the 1st gear, and
the gears are shifted automatically to
2nd, 3rd, and 4th gear as the vehicle
’
s
speed increases. The gears are
automatically down shifted when the
vehicle
’
s speed is reduced.
•
R (Reverse) :
Press the button when reversing the
vehicle.
•
N (Neutral) :
Start or turn off the engine and
activate the parking brake activation
lever with this button pressed.

CAUTION
Do not operate the gear shift buttons
while the accelerator is being applied.
CAUTION
Stop the car completely if you are
shifting from forward to reverse, or
shifting from reverse to forward.
CAUTION
A malfunction in the transmission is
indicated by the button lamp

blinking. Upon such incident,
carefully and slowly drive the vehicle
to a close service plant and receive
inspection and service
REFERENCE
Each button is installed with an
independent lamp, which turns on
when the button is pressed.
