When the top LED turns solid green, listen for the fans to start.

The hard drive LEDs should blink. If the LEDs do not light, verify that
the hard drives are fully installed in the system.
Check the following on the IMD.

Check for the IMD messages about the

Server name
b.
LCD Firmware
c.
System Initialization
d.
PCI Auto Configuration
e.
Processors

Check the IMD Video message. If there is a monitor connected, you
should see the Compaq initialization screen.
3.
Check for the IMD memory test message. The monitor shows the
memory count and the memory initialization.
4.
Observe the memory count displayed.
5.
Check for the IMD BIOS message. The monitor shows the number of
processors, their speed, and their cache size.

Check for IMD messages about
a.
Drive Array
b.
Floppy Drive
c.
Option ROM
d.
SCSI device
Make sure each green LED on the PCI Hot Plug Interface Board is on (both
inside and outside). To verify the inside LEDs, open the PCI Hot Plug access
panel. If any LEDs are not on, power down the server. Check the following:
■
Each slot has an expansion board or a slot cover.
■
The slot release lever is closed.
■
The expansion boards are properly seated. If necessary, try removing
and reseating the boards to make sure.
