Connecting Internal Hard Drives to
Smart Array Controllers

Many configurations are possible when adding multiple SCSI controllers. This
section outlines the cabling procedure for the Smart Array Controller. Refer to
the Smart Array Controller options documentation for further information.

The following steps outline the installation procedure for the Smart Array
Controller:

 

1.

 

Follow the steps in sections “Installation and Removal Guidelines for
SCSI Hard Drives” and “Expansion Slots” of Chapter 3.

 

2.

 

Locate the Wide-Ultra2 SCSI cable attached to the Server Feature Board
SCSI connector.

 

3.

 

Remove the cable from the SCSI connector.
