Password Security
Your workstation supports security password features that can be established by
selecting Computer Setup from the Compaq Utilities menu. To access these
features, complete the procedures described in the sections that follow.
Power-On Password
Establishing a Power-On Password through Computer Setup prevents
unauthorized access to the workstation when the power is turned on. To access
the workstation, you must enter the password when the key icon (
) appears
on the monitor.
NOTE
: The Power-On Password may only be established (for the first time)
using the Computer Setup utility. Once established, the Setup utility cannot be
used to change or delete the Power-On Password. To change or delete the
Power-On Password, see “Changing a Power-On Password” or “Deleting a
Power-On Password” in this chapter.
