A
ACU
Antenna Control Unit. Another name for the Base Unit in the VSAT system.

Above Deck Unit. Another name for antenna.

DHCP
Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol. A protocol for assigning dynamic IP addresses to
devices on a network. With dynamic addressing, a device can have a different IP address
every time it connects to the network.
DNS
Domain Name System. A system translating server names (URLs) to server addresses.
DVB
Digital Video Broadcasting, a set of standards relating to digital television.

Federal Communications Commission. An independent agency of the United States
government, created by Congressional statute to regulate interstate communications by
radio, television, wire, satellite, and cable in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and U.S.
territories. The FCC works towards six goals in the areas of broadband, competition, the
spectrum, the media, public safety and homeland security.
