General Precautions in the event of Fire
The contents of this chapter must be complied with strictly in the event of a fire in
the machine or in the vicinity thereof.
Fire Extinguisher
Check that a fire extinguisher is present in the machine's working
area, and if not, provide one.
Check that the type of fire extinguisher present is compatible with the
class of fire that might break out in the working area where the
machine is installed.
Where to place the fire extinguisher

Position the extinguisher in places that are easily accessible and clearly visible;

Mark the presence of the fire extinguisher;

Keep it in a state of complete efficiency;
-
Pay attention to the instructions printed on the label;
-
Perform maintenance every six months.
What to do to prevent fires
-
Do not smoke;
-
Do not use live flames;
-
Do not store flammable substances near the machine.
What to do in the event of a Fire
Signal the Danger
Anybody who notices that a fire has started or sees anything unusual (the presence
of smoke, floods, bursts, falling articles, loose flammable substances, etc.) must
advise the factory overseer immediately and, if not properly trained, must request
the immediate intervention of the firefighting officer, who must immediately carry
out the following actions:

disconnect the machine from the electricity using the specific switch located
upstream of the machine itself;

remove any material that might burn or represent any other danger.

In the presence of smoke or flames it is advisable to cover your mouth and nose
with a handkerchief, if possible damp, and to bend over while moving.
How to use the fire extinguisher.

Remove the safety pin;
-
Grasp the nozzle;
-
Press the control lever all the way down and direct the jet towards the base of the flames;

Stand at a suitable distance from the flames;
-
If possible, to reduce waste, use the extinguisher intermittently;
-
If a number of fire extinguishers are being used by several people, it is advisable for
them all to stand on the same side (upwind) and in a position such that they do not
interfere with each other.
