Operation
This chapter covers:
functional pre-operational check;
visual inspection;
changing the cylinder; and
functional test.
Functional Pre-Operational Check
Verify the BA’s operability before using it. It must
not
be used if:
the function test is unsuccessful;
it is damaged or suspected damage is identified;
the BA is not functioning according to the instructions or training.
Visual Inspection
If the BA does not function properly as described in the Functional Tests
section, it must be removed from service and returned to the State PPE&C
Management Centre, with an attached fault report.
Only use the BA in the way that the manufacture intends it to be used.
Visual inspections are carried out before, during and after use, a minimum of
weekly or at change of shift.
