Drain the facemask of water.
Vigorously shake it to displace excess
moisture, particularly from around the
exhalation valve.
Gentle flexing of the facemask rubber can aid
in draining.
Moisture can also be drawn from the
facemask with a soft lint-free cloth.

Check that the nose cup is securely fitted,
ensuring the correct orientation.
The nose cup is fitted correctly when:
it is flush with the speech diaphragm and
has a good seal at 360°;
the inhalation valve is free to move and
operate correctly;
the nose cup notch aligns with the visor
marker;
the yellow markers are present.
6
Thoroughly dry the facemask with a soft, lint-
free cloth.
Using the neck strap, the facemask can be hung vertically, as this will aid in
draining any moisture away from the exhalation valve. Dry with ambient air.
Ensure that the demand valve is completely dry prior to reconnection of
facemask and the re-stowage of BA. Under no circumstances should
pressurised air be used to dry the facemask.
