Operating the DSU

Follow these steps to operate the MSA Motion Scout.

Start

Press the ON/OFF button for approximately one
second.



The DSU emits an alarm sound for a two
second test period.



The status LEDs flash to indicate that the
instrument is switched on.

No
movement

When the operator remains motionless for
approximately  25  seconds, a series of pre-alarm
warnings are emitted for approximately  15
seconds at a reduced sound volume.

Movement will cancel this pre-alarm
immediately.

If the operator does not move during pre-alarm
period, the full alarm will sound after
approximately 15 seconds.

Cancel
alarm

Press the manual ALARM button twice within
one second.
