Red-eye reduction
Using the flash to shoot at night or in a dimly lit room can ca u se
red spots inside the eyes of people w ho are in the image. This is
ca u sed w hen the light from the flash reflects off of the retina of
the eye. W hen red-eye red u ction is selected as the flash mode,
the camera fires a pre-flash to ca u se the irises in the eyes of any
people in the image to close, w hich red u ces the chance of red
eye.
IMPORTANT!

Note the follo w ing important points w hen u sing red-eye
red u ction.
– Red-eye red u ction does not w ork u nless the people in
the image are looking directly at the camera (flash).
Before pressing the sh u tter bu tton, call o u t to the
s ub jects so they all look at the camera.
– Red-eye red u ction may not w ork v ery w ell if the s ub jects
are located far a w ay from the camera.
