Assembly
Assemble the outer ring of the bearing, 3, the same
shims that were removed, 2, and the retaining ring,
1, in the gear end of the housing. If the quantity of
shims is unknown start with 1 mm (0.039
″
).
Install the retaining ring, 5, on the shaft, 10.
Place the gear, 6, inside the gearbox. Place the
spline end of the shaft in the gearbox and in the gear.
Slide the inner race of bearing, 3, on the shaft.
Drive the end of the shaft into the bearing and gear
until the gear is against the retaining ring, 5.
Press the inner race of bearing, 3, on the end of the
shaft.
