Installation
Position the pickup assembly back to align the frame
mounts. Using a floor jack, raise the rear of the pickup
to align with the frame attaching mounts and secure
with cap screws, 5, Figure 12. Torque the M12 cap
screws and nuts to 97 N
⋅
m (72 ft. lbs.).
Reinstall the pickup lift linkage, 4, Figure 11. Raise
the pickup and install the flotation spring to the right
side. Adjust the flotation spring, 3, Figure 12, evenly
on each side, until there is 23 kg (50 lbs.) weight on
the gauge wheels when they are resting on the
ground.
Reinstall the wind guard linkage and the pickup drive
chain. Adjust the drive idler, 1, to provide 5 - 13 mm
(3/16 - 1/2
″
) sag as shown.
Replace the pickup drive shield, 1.

Disassembly
To obtain better access to the pickup, removal of the
complete assembly is recommended. See “Pickup
Removal” previously included in this section.
With the pickup off the baler, remove cotter pin, 1,
and washer, 2, from the left-hand end of the pickup.

Remove the slip clutch assembly from the reel shaft.
Remove woodruff key, 3, washer, 4, and lock collar,
5, from the left-hand end of the reel shaft.
Remove the three cap screws, 6, securing the
bearing flangette. Remove the bearing and flan-
gettes from the shaft.
