Secure the sledge roll with a cap screw and nut, 5, to
hold the sledge roll in position.

Remove the cap screw from each end of the follower
roll, as shown. The roll can then be removed from the
baler.
NOTE:
If the bearing cap turns, a punch can be
placed in hole, 6, to hold the bearing cap from turning.

The roll can now be disassembled by removing bear-
ing cap, 1, O ring, 2, shield, 3, and bearing, 4, from
the roll.
Installation
Replace the bearings and the follower roll in the re-
verse order of removal. Check the following items
during installation:
Ensure that the bore of roll, 4, is clean with all paint
and dirt removed in the bearing area. Seat bearing,
3, properly.
Ensure that bearing caps, 1, will slide into bearing, 3.
Fill the cavity between shield, 3, and bearing, 4, with
grease.
Torque cap screw, 4, on each side of the follower roll
to 91 N
