Memory broadcast
Allows you to send a scanned fax to as many as 57 locations at once,
using a combination of one-touch speed dialling, coded speed dialling,
or manual dialling.
Memory sending
Scans a document into memory before the MultiPASS C50 dials the
numbers and sends it. This method allows you to retrieve your original
document immediately after scanning.
Modem
A device that converts (MOdulates) digital data for transmission over
telephone lines. At the receiving end, this device converts the
modulated data (DEModulates) to digital format that the computer
understands.
MultiPASS Desktop Manager for Windows software
Canon’s exclusive software package that allows you to use the
MultiPASS C50 with your Windows software applications. You must
install the MultiPASS Desktop Manager to use your MultiPASS C50 as a
printer, scanner, or PC fax.

Noise
A term applied to a variety of problems that impair the operation of
telephone lines used for faxing.

Nonbleed
A special mode in colour print quality selection whereby the printer
changes from true black to composite black when directly adjacent to an
area of colour.
Numeric buttons
The round, numbered buttons on the operation panel marked the same
as a standard telephone keypad. Press them to perform regular dialling.
You also use the numeric buttons to enter numbers and letters when
you register numbers and names, and for entering coded speed dialling
codes.
