Printing From Your PC
Chapter 7
Some Advice for Colour Printing
Your Canon MultiPASS C50 is a powerful colour printer. If this is the
first time you have used a colour printer, read this section for some tips
on printing with colour effectively.
Colour lets you strengthen the visual impact of reports, memos, and
presentations. Colour captures your readers’ attention, holds their
interest, and increases their understanding of your message. You do not
have to be an artist or a graphic designer to use colour effectively, but
you do need software that supports colour printing, and you need to
spend some time thinking about how best to use colour to highlight
important information. Without careful planning, you can overuse
colour, and actually detract from the document’s content.
Selecting Paper and Other Print Media
Selecting the right print media is crucial for achieving the best possible
print quality. See “Selecting the Print Media” on page 2-37 for
guidelines to help you choose the right media for your particular print
requirements.
N
If you use coated paper, the colours may print out differently from what
you expect.
Understanding Your Application’s Capabilities
It is important that you know how to correctly use the application you
will be printing from, and its capabilities and limitations for colour
printing.
Your MultiPASS C50 can reproduce up to 16.7 million different colours,
but the number you can actually print depends on the application you
use. Some applications have restrictions on how they can use colour: see
your application’s documentation to see if it has any such restrictions.
