C. Power-ON Sequence
The sequence from power-ON until the printer enters the STANDBY mode is as follows:
1) Power-ON
2) CPU initialization
3) Start of the video interface communication
0.5 seconds after the status command signal (/SC) turns "H", the video interface communi-
cation is ready for operation.
4) Paper jam detection and door open detection
Paper detection status of the sensors and door open are detected.
5) Fixing unit-ON
The fixing unit is driven for 0.5 seconds. The printer stops driving the fixing unit if the
detected fixing unit temperature is 100°C or more.
6) Scanner motor initial rotation
7) Main motor initial rotation
8) High-voltage control
Presence or absence of the cartridge is detected after the primary high-voltage goes ON. The
transfer charging roller is cleaned.
9) Failure/abnormality check
Scanner failure and fixing unit failure are detected.
10) Residual paper check
Residual paper is delivered automatically, if detected. When the delivery paper sensor
detects paper, JAM is indicated.
