When you insert the toner cartridge, make sure that the plastic knob

the side of the cartridge slides vertically into the guiding groove

machine.

Close the printer cover.
IMPORTANT
• If the printer cover does not close completely, do not force it down. Remove the
toner cartridge and insert it again.
• To avoid exposing the light-sensitive drum, never leave the printer cover open.
• The machine will not operate if the cover is not closed completely.
• If you see the message below, and the Error lamp blinks red when the machine is
plugged in, open the printer cover again, and make sure the toner cartridge is in a
level position. (See “Turning the Power ON,” on p. 1-50.) Then, close the printer
cover.
