File Sharing Settings
This section explains how to set up a computer on your network as a file sharing server.
These settings enable you to send files from your machine to the file sharing server.
IMPORTANT
• This section describes procedures for entering file sharing settings on the server side only. To send files
from the machine to a server on the network, you must enter an address setting from either the control
panel or the Remote UI. For instructions on using the control panel, see the
User’s Guide

Using Windows 95/98
IMPORTANT
• The machine is not compatible with the NetBIOS scope ID. Do not set up a scope ID on the file sharing
server.
NOTE
• When using Windows NT or Windows 2000 on a network, it is recommended that these settings be made
on a file server.

Right-click the Network Neighborhood
icon on the screen, and then select
Properties.

In The following network components

Client for Microsoft Networks and File
and printer sharing for Microsoft Net-
works appear in the list box. For Win-
dows 95, confirm that Microsoft
Network Client appears. If not, click the
Add... button and install these compo-
nents.

Click the File and Print Sharing... but-
ton, select “I want to be able to give oth-
ers access to my files,” and click the OK
button.
