9.1
Basics for testing power-operated doors

2004/108 EC EMC directive
ASR A1.7 Technical rules for doors in workplaces
DIN EN 13241-1 Product standards for doors part 1: products without fire and smoke protection

9.1.2 Annual testing / Technical rule ASR A1.7
According to section 10.2 of the Technical Rule for Doors in Workplaces ASR A1.7, power-operated doors
must be tested by a qualified professional before first being put into service and at least once annually. This
testing should not be equated with maintenance.
ASR A1.7 requires that the annual testing is performed by a qualified individual. The corresponding expert
knowledge of the people tasked with this guarantees that the system is tested properly.
Evidence of the testing should be kept, which is to be continuously posted to the test book.
9.1.3 Qualified individual
Qualified individuals are people that possess sufficient knowledge in the area of power-operated doors based
on their professional training and experience, and they are familiar enough with all applicable national work
protection regulations, accident prevention regulations, guidelines and generally accepted technical rules
