• When the LinkStation joins an Active Directory domain, FTP is disabled. Before using FTP, move the FTP switch
back to the
on
position.
• Don’t disable the SMB protocol while Active Directory is used for access restrictions. If you do, you will need to
enable SMB again and reconfigure AD from scratch.
NT Domain
If there is an NT domain environment, the LinkStation will use account information from the NT domain server
to set access restrictions for files and folders on the LinkStation. There’s no need to perform individual account
management for the LinkStation. If multiple LinkStations are installed on the network, the account information is
centrally managed in the NT domain, greatly reducing the operations required for installation and management.
Note:
The LinkStation supports a domain environment with a maximum of 1000 domain users and 1000 groups.
