Connecting a phone or answering
machine to your Image 350
Connect a phone or an answering machine to
your Image 350 by plugging it into the socket
on your Image 350’s line cord.

Connect a telephone or answering machine
as shown below.
•
Using the
RECEIVE MODE
button, set your
Image 350 to ANS/FAX mode.
When your Image 350 is working with an
answering machine, and it receives an
incoming call, your answering machine will
always answer the call first. Your Image 350
will then take over the call if it detects that it is
a fax call.
If your Image 350 fails to take fax calls from
your answering machine then first you should
check the length of your answer machine’s
outgoing message as it may be too long for the
calling machine to handle. The maximum
optimum length of the outgoing message will
vary with the number of rings your answering
machine is set to answer after and with the fax
detector you have selected (see below).
If you are trying to receive faxes from abroad
you may find that you need to shorten your
outgoing message further.

your Image 350. Whilst your Image 350 will work
with any type of answering machine, for optimum
performance it is recommended that you use one
which has a digital outgoing message
