The
Local format
function allows you to emphasize a block of the text by printing it with a
font, size, width, style, underline or frame setting that is different from the rest of the text. In
order to apply local formatting, the text must be divided into blocks. (For more details, refer to
NEW BLOCK KEY
on page 56.)
To use the Local format function:

h
to position the cursor in the block that will be given a different format.

Hold down
c
and press
S
once. “BLOCK FORM” appears in the top row of the dis-
play to indicate that the current text block will have the local format.

Select the desired font, size, width, style, underline or frame setting as described on pages 82
to 90. The selected setting will only be applied to the text block containing the cursor.

When selecting a format setting, the current setting is displayed first.
When selecting a frame setting for local formatting, only the square and rounded
frames are available.
Since only one local format setting at a time can be applied to the text block, repeat
the above procedure for each additional format that you wish to apply.
Only one setting of a format can be applied to a single text block. For example, two
different fonts cannot be applied to the same text block.
