Follow these steps:

(Express Backspace)
or
K

I (Backspace)
key to move
the carrier to the left margin.

Press the CTR key.
The carrier moves to the middle between the right and left margins. The
centering symbol ( |+| ) and the cursor appear on the display.
[3] Type the text to be centered.
Every time you type a character, the input text appears on the display and
the carrier moves half a character to the right but no printing takes place.
When you want to quit centering procedures halfway, erase the input text
with the C O RRECTIO N key, and press the C TR or C O R R EC TIO N
key.

Press the
(R eturn) key.
The typewriter prints the text centered and a carrier return takes place.
Between Tab Stops
You can center the text between normal flush left tab stops. Before you begin
the following steps, set normal flush left tab stops at your desired positions.

Press the — H (Tab) or CO D E + B TAB keys once or several times to
move the carrier to any normal flush left lab stop.

Press the CTR key.
The carrier moves to the middle between the current normal flush left
tab stop and the next normal flush left tab stop, or the right margin if no
tab stops follow. The centering symbol ( |+| ) and the cursor appear on
the display.
