Memory Operations
There are powerful functions for you to master. On this typewriter two types
of memory operations are available: Line Format Memory and Page Format
Memory. Once you master these memory functions, you can streamline the
complex typing jobs that require the different formats.
Line Format Memory
By using the line format memory, you can store up to 10 different sets of
settings such as right and left margins, flush left tab and decimal tab stops, top
margin, page end, hot zone, line spacing (normal or special), and character pitch.
The tray selection and paper size can also be stored when the optional cut-sheet
feeder CF-500 is installed. Because all these settings are related to a line, they
are called Line Formats and the memory is called Line Formal Memory.
Line Format Memories in the TYPE Mode
You can use line format memories in both the WP and TYPE modes. However
you can set them only in the TYPE mode.
Follow these steps to set line format memories:
[1]
Select the TYPE mode with the TY PE key.
[2]
Look at the message lamp.
The message lamp shows the current line format with the number (#0 -
#9). If this is the first time your typewriter is turned on, the message
lamp may show the default line format number " 1 ”.
[3]
Press the FO R M A T key to select a line format memory (#0 - ff9) where
you want to store the settings.
Every time you press the FO RM A T key, the message lamp counts up and
cycles through the numbers from
f fl
to #9.
