5. INSTALLATION
- Ensure that the chimney is compliant (see paragraph 1) and thermally insulate the outside supporting
wall or combustible materials.
- Disassemble removable parts and, depending on the desired confi guration, plug or open up the
openings provided for combustion and convection (see paragraph 4) using the plates provided.
- Place and position the fi replace in the recess at the correct height and LEVEL (left/right and front/
back) using the handles (available from our resellers):
Leave enough space for the fan and its electrical wiring, if required. The fan can be installed
from inside or below the fi replace (see the «Fan» section).
When using the «natural convection» confi guration, leave 5 cm of space under the fi replace
for air fl ow (see the «Recessing» section) with an inlet of 400 cm² of open space minimum.
- Make the connection between the fi replace and the chimney (see chapter 2) then connect the hot
air collars (2 or 4).
- Plan for the combustion air intake connection: use one of the two openings provided and close
off the other one. If you are not using an outside air intake, follow the
instructions on pages 32 and 33. The minimum air intake sizes must be
respected.
- Install and connect the electrical wiring for the fan and the controller, if
required (see chapter 7).
- Set the baffl es to the closed position (with no smoke spill) to obtain the best
yield from the fi replace (see the User Manual: «Setting the baffl es»).
- If the 4 mm frame is chosen, it must be positioned before the brickwork is
done (see chapter 8). If the 30 mm frame is chosen, the inner frame must also be positioned before
the brickwork is done.
- It is recommended that a test be carried out PRIOR to doing brickwork around the fi replace.
WARNING: the fi rst fi re will bake the paint and there will a strong smell and smoke. It is
therefore imperative that the room be aired out. Do not touch the fi replace during the baking
period. Check the draught and once the fi re is cold, change the position of the baffl es, if
required, to obtain the best yield and operation (note the position of the baffl es so that the
chimney sweeper can put them back in the right position.)
- Put the covering on the fi replace. Be sure to provide the minimum sections required for the air fl ow
needed for combustion (inside connection), convection and decompression then dust the visible
painted surfaces.
- If the 30 mm frame option is chosen, position it against the inner frame.
