PAINT ON METAL SURFACES
Do not use water and/or cleaning products on painted areas.
Soiled areas can be restored with special high temperature B&G aerosol paint available from your
dealer.
VERMICULITE PLATES (SKAMOLEX) OR DECORATIVE METAL
A split brick can still fulfi l its protective function. However, if a piece is missing, the brick should be
replaced to provide adequate protection for the combustion chamber. The bricks are easy to replace
individually. It is recommended that damaged ones be replaced. Decorative plates of painted metal
can be replaced individually if damaged.
FAN (optional)
DISCONNECT the electrical supply. DISCONNECT the fan then REMOVE.
CLEAN the fan blades with a brush (DO NOT USE COMPRESSED AIR).
REASSEMBLE.
CHIMNEY SWEEPING
Have the chimney cleaned at least once a year both to meet regulations and for safety.
- Note the placement of the baffl es.
- Take apart the baffl es as shown in paragraph 5.
- Close the door and shut off the thermostat (if the chimney is swept from the roof).
- Vacuum after the soot has dropped (don’t forget to clean the defl ector).
Take advantage of cleaning to check the condition of the chimney and
connections.
- Follow the instructions in reverse to reposition the baffl es. Be careful to reset them to
their original positions.
