Fully open position:
This enables easy fl ow of smoke. Each baffl e consists of a fi xed support on which two panels slide.
When the two panels are brought back to the centre of the support, the passageway on the sides
is opened up for smoke.
The baffl es are set on top of the supports integrated in the fi replace. To remove them, lift then twist
slightly to bring them toward the bottom. Follow the steps in reverse to put them back.
CHIMNEY SWEEPING!
WARNING: don’t forget to remove the detector during chimney cleaning
to clean off any ash that has settled on it! Put it back on its support before
repositioning the baffl es.
Don’t forget to record the position of the baffl es before removing them to
enable correct repositioning.
Intermediate position:
If no smoke comes out of the fi replace when it is opened, the baffl es can be closed more to improve
yield. To do this, slide the upper panels of one (or more) baffl es to separate them a bit.
Fully closed position
If there is no smoke spill out in the intermediate position, close the baffl es completely to obtain the
best yield the fi replace can provide for the chimney. To do this, fully separate the upper panels of
the baffl es to decrease the outfl ow of smoke and ensure maximum combustion of the gases.
Note: When the chimney draught is very weak, it is possible to further increase the amount of smoke
passing through by taking out the detector (to do so, lift, turn 90° and lower between the walls in the
combustion chamber).
