2.2.3 pc radio editinG
KNG portable radio features and functions can be enabled, disabled or customized via a Windows
XP compatible PC. Radio programming requires KAA0730 Radio Editor Software and KAA0710
Programming Kit.
NOTE: The following instructions are based on KAA0730 version 1.04 and are for reference only. Radio
features and functionality are subject to change.
Select radio type
The KNG Programming Software is designed to program multiple model types. Use the drop box to select
the model type of the radios you will be programming.
Your radio model type is shown on the front of the radio as well as on the serial tag.

The Radio Editor can be configured with a default radio model. By selecting a default radio model the
“Select Radio Type” dialog box will not appear on program startup. The channel editing window will open
in the selected default radio mode. (See Program Setup)
2.2.3.1 proGram Setup
Under the Options tab, at the top of the editor screen, parameters
are available to determine program defaults.
Definable defaults include Network Access Code (NAC) view,
empty zone view, default radio data, radio type and default radio
tier.

Both Receive and Transmit Network Access Codes (NAC) are
required for channels programmed to operate in Digital Mode.
NACs can be viewed and programmed as either decimal or
hexadecimal numbers. (See Network Access Code.)
