• Multiviewer network ports
LAN5
and
LAN6
are only available on certain multiviewer
models. See Kaleido - IP Multiviewer Ethernet Port Usage , on page 23. The Kaleido - IP
must have one of the following network interface cards installed: KIP - OPT - ETH - 2S,
KIP - OPT - ETH - 2Q, KIP - OPT - ETH - 2C. See Kaleido - IP X320/X120 PCI network interface add-
on card options (choose one) , on page 77 for more information.
• Media ports LAN5 and LAN6 must be configured. See Configuring a Multiviewer’s IP,
Date, and Time Settings with XAdmin , on page 33. Uncompressed streams must use
LAN5 and LAN6 .
• The room’s resolution in XEdit must be set to 1920 × 1080p 50/60Hz.
• The connected network must have a PTP grandmaster server clock on its domain.
• The Kaleido
- IP’s date and time setting must be set to use PTP. See Configuring a
Multiviewer’s IP, Date, and Time Settings with XAdmin , on page 33.
Example of how to cable a multiviewer for SMPTE ST 2022-7
1 As shown in the figure above, connect the multiviewer’s network port LAN5 to the
A Network shown in red.
2 Connect the multiviewer’s network port LAN6 to the B Network shown in blue.
3 Connect all other equipment to the network switches that provide sources and are
destinations.
4 The network switches need to be configured. See the switch’s user documentation for
more information.
To configure SMPTE ST 2022-7 example
1 Open XAdmin. See Opening XAdmin , on page 55.
2 Install the SMPTE ST 2110 Output ( KIP - OPT - UCIP - OUT and Rivermax license ) license
keys. See Enabling Options , on page 80.
3 Click System configuration , in the navigation area on the left of the page.
The System Configuration page appears.
4 Set the media IP address settings for both LAN5 and LAN6 according to the needs of
the switch’s fabric configuration. See also Configuring a Multiviewer’s IP, Date, and Time
Settings with XAdmin , on page 33.
Parameter Description
DHCP This option is disabled by default. Enable it if your switch supports
DHCP.
IP address The Kaleido - IP’s address for this interface. Make sure that this setting
matches the switch’s setting for each network port.
