7. Warranty and Repair Terms

Warranty:

The hardware, i.e. the actual ECG Recorder Beam

is warranted by I.E.M.

for a period of 2 years. The warranty expires if the device is opened, oper-

ated incorrectly or is damaged negligently or intentionally. The also war-

ranty expires if the device is repaired by an unauthorised party. Only the

AAA batteries can be replaced by the operator.
The normal wear and tear of casing electrodes and electrode cables is not

covered by the warranty. In the case of a warranty claim, I.E.M. GmbH is

only liable for defects, which already existed at the time of the transfer of

the product to the customer (and which only showed later).
Also the warranty does not apply, if the defect results from a disregard of

the operating manual, inappropriate use, wetness, dampness, extreme heat

or climatic conditions or temporary fluctuation of respective factors or cor-

rosion, oxidation, unauthorised access or connecting attempts, unauthor-

ised opening or repair, repair attempts using not authorised spare parts,

mis-use, inappropriate installation, accidents, acts of God, spilling of food

or liquids, chemical effects or other external effects, which I.E.M. can not

influence (among others defects on consumable parts like batteries which

have a limited life expectancy, are excluded), except if the defect is the

result of a material, construction or fabrication error.

Repairs:

If the device exhibits operational errors or continuous recording devia-

tions please return to your vendor or directly to I.E.M. GmbH for repair

and shipping instructions.

Warning

: Do not open the case. If the device is opened the warranty is

invalidated.
