5. Service and Maintenance
Service:
The ECG Loop-/Event Recorder Beam
®
does not need to be serviced frequent-
ly by the manufacturer.
Before each use please check:
■
The ECG recording with an online transmission (training) to the HMS CS
■
The functionality of the LED
■
The functionality of the acoustic transmitter
Cleaning and Sanitisation:
The user (physician) decides, if and when sanitisation of the device for sanitary
reasons is applicable (I.E.M. recommends it after each use).
The following products are recommended by I.E.M after successful tests:
1. Terralin Liquid (Manufacturer: Schülke & Mayr)
2. Isopropanol (70%)
Important
: Please comply with the manufacturers specifications with regard to the
application of these products. Let the products dry completely.
Disinfectants must not make contact with the interface of the recorder or penetrate
the interior of the recorder. Do not spray disinfectant onto the recorder but use a
damp cloth for the cleaning and sanitising. Do not put either the recorder or the
electrodes into a disinfectant solution.
The user is responsible for any damage caused by the use of other disinfectants,
which are not recommended by I.E.M. Never use disinfectants which leave residues
on the product or which are not appropriate for contact with your skin.
Warning
: Some patients have allergies to certain disinfectants or their components.
If you have such patients or are unsure, please remove all possible residues with
a damp cloth.
IMPORTANT
:
If liquid penetrates the device, switch it off immediately and return it to I.E.M. for
testing.
Defibrillation:
If the ECG Loop-/Event Recorder Beam
®
was connected to a patient during a defi-
brillation, please return it to I.E.M. for testing.
Bag
: The bag can be cleaned at 30°C using mild detergent. (no harsh or solvent-
containing additives must be used.
