Calibration
5.4 T-Stack Calibration
Ths procedure frst
zeros

spans
the stack-temperature channel
to known temperature values.
The use of an electronc thermocouple smulator s the preferred method of
producng the desred calbraton temperatures. Alternatvely, contaners
of ce water and bolng water can be used.
Material Required:
Thermocouple Smulator (K-type)
Range: 0 to 600 °F
Accuracy: ±0.5 °F
(Alternatvely) Ice-Water, Bolng Water, Thermometer
TS-Zero Procedure:
1. Set thermocouple smulator to room temperature and plug ts output
nto the T-STACK connector located at the bottom of the analyzer.
Alternatively:
Plug the probe’s thermocouple nto the T-STACK con-
nector located at the bottom of the analyzer.
DO NOT attach the
probe’s gas hose to the analyzer’s GAS port; otherwise water
will be drawn into the analyzer!
2. If not already done, turn ON the analyzer and dsplay the
CALIBRATION LIST screen per Secton
5.2
.
3. Use the buttons to hghlght T-Stack, and
then press
ENT
to dsplay the CALIBRATE
TS-ZERO screen.
“Measured” is the current temperature read-
ing, while “Applied” is a known temperature
that will be applied for calibration purposes.
4. Set thermocouple smulator to 32 °F (0 °C),
and then use the and buttons to enter
an Appled value that exactly equals the set-
tng of the smulator.
Alternatively:
Submerge probe tp nto an ce-water bath wth a ther-
mometer, wat several mnutes, and then use the and buttons to
enter an Appled value that exactly equals the thermometer readng.
The calibration range is from 32 to 41 °F (0 to 5 °C). An attempt to
calibrate outside this range will cause the message “Bad Calibration
Wrong CAL Entry” to appear in the following step.
