Target Device Properties
Using the MergePoint 5200 SP manager, you may view target device properties, change the target
device alias, copy or move a target device to a group or remove the target device from the SP
manager. You may also access the BMC and FRU information only from target devices that have
IPMI BMCs.
Viewing the system name
To view the system name:
1. In the side navigation bar, click a target device name.
2. Click the Properties tab.
3. In the top navigation bar, click System Name . A window displaying target device
information appears.
Changing the target device alias
To change the target device alias:
1. In the side navigation bar, click a target device name.
2. Click the Properties tab.
3. In the top navigation bar, click System Name . A window displaying target device
information appears.
4. Click Change Alias . The Edit Target window appears.
5. In the Alias field, type the new name for the target device.
6. Click Apply Changes .
Adding a target device to a group
To add a target device to a group:
1. In the side navigation bar, click a target device name.
2. Click the Properties tab.
3. In the top navigation bar, click System Name . A window displaying target device
information appears.
4. To add the target device to a group, click Copy To . From the Group drop-down menu, select a
group. The target device is added to the new group and remains in the current group.

To move the target device to a new group, click Move To . From the Group drop-down menu,
select a group. The target device is added to the new group and removed from the
current group.
5. Click Apply Changes .
