Eclipse Edge Configuration and Diagnostics
Link Configuration
Link configuration applies to the Link module for non-protected operation, or to two
paired Link modules when operated as a dual-protected hot-standby or space
diversity link.
Protected Link Configuration
Hot-standby or space diversity operation is provided using one IDUspe with dual
ODUs.
Hot-standby
normally uses a single antenna. The two ODUs, set to the same
frequency, are connected to the antenna via an equal-loss or unequal-loss coupler.
Refer to
Space diversity
requires two antennas, each with an ODU. The primary ODU
should be assigned to the top antenna.
For both modes, both receivers are receiving to provide hitless (errorless) path
protection, with the least errored receive stream selected on a block-by-block basis.
Transmit switching is not hitless.
The protection applies to the radio path, the ODUs and to the PoE power injectors on
the IDUspe.
For more information on protected operation, refer to
Operation and Rules on page 39
NOTE:
On an operational link you can launch Portal screens from one
terminal to its remote partner by right-clicking on a Link module and
selecting the Launch Remote option. Applies to the module-based
screens such as System Summary and Plug-ins.
Configuring a Link
This procedure applies to non-protected links and to hot-standby and space diversity
links.
The Link plug-ins screen supports configuration of capacity, modulation/bandwidth,
frequency, TR spacing, Tx power, ATPC and dual-ODU protection.
A typical plug-ins screen for a 16xE1 configuration is shown in
