Chapter 3. Eclipse Edge Installation
The lightning surge suppressor kit for the building/shelter end of the cable is
designed for indoor installation, and should be located just inside the building with
its ground wire fastened directly to the main building ground. It protects all eight
wires in the ODU cable.
The surge suppressor kit comprises :
• Surge suppressor.
• A ground wire a lug fitted at one end.
• An installation instruction sheet.
NOTE:
The building entry suppressor should be grounded to the master
ground bar at, or just below, the cable point of entry. For details on
master ground bar location, refer to Aviat Networks’ Best Practices
Guide .
The suppressor must be installed as close as practical to cable entry, and the
suppressor ground wire connected directly to the master ground bar, or ground bar
extension. A normal cable ground kit must be installed at the point of cable entry
outside the building. Refer to
