6. On completion of the tests ensure the remote loopback is disabled, or will time-out.
7. Check the System/Controls screen, and if necessary return to default online status
(primary ODU as Tx online), and if an unequal coupler is used, check that the
online Tx is connected to the low-loss side.
Rx Switching Procedure
The procedure requires disconnection, in turn, of the ODU cables.
Test procedure
:
1. Go to Diagnostics > Performance > Start All for the protected link. Ensure
unavailable second and errored second counts are at zero.
2. Disconnect the primary RAC ODU cable and confirm there is no change to the zero
errored-second count in the performance screen. At this point the secondary ODU
is providing the Rx source.
3. Reconnect the primary ODU cable, wait 60 seconds then disconnect the secondary
ODU cable and confirm no change to the errored-second count. At this point the
primary ODU is providing the Rx source.
NOTE:
For the online Tx ODU (default primary), removing its ODU cable
also forces a local switch to the standby Tx ODU. This will not affect
the outcome of the local Rx protection test.
4. On completion of the tests use the System/Controls screen to return Link status to
the required online Tx setting.
