Making calls without the handset
The Monitoring function (you can hear the person with whom you are talking over
the loudspeaker) and Handsfree function (the person with whom you are talking can
be heard over the loudspeaker and you can speak to him/her using the built-in
microphone) can be accessed via the S
PEAKER
key.
You can activate handsfree operation before making a call by pressing the S
PEAKER
key.
If you press the S
PEAKER
function key during a call, monitoring is activated. Pressing
the function key again then results in a switch to handsfree mode.
You can see whether "Monitoring" or "Handsfree" is enabled from the status of
the LED:
•
LED on: Monitoring (speaker is on)
•
LED flashes: Handsfree (speaker and handsfree microphone are on)
•
LED off: Speaker and handsfree microphone are off
Hearing the caller through the speaker (monitoring)
While calling with the handset lifted:
Press the S
PEAKER
function key (LED lights up). You are now in monitoring
mode and can hear the other party out loud in the room.
The desired speaker volume can be set using the
and
keys. You can
switch to handsfree mode (LED flashes) by pressing S
PEAKER
again. Pressing the
key again deactivates the handsfree microphone and the speaker (LED off). You
can continue the conversation using the handset.
Making a call with the handset on-hook (handsfree)

Enter the desired number.
Press the S
PEAKER
key (LED flashes).
When the desired party answers, you can hear them out loud and you can also talk
to them with the handset on-hook. To end the call, press the S
PEAKER
function key
again.
