Gas detec on system control by the following commands:
• unlocking detectors (func onality available e.g. for cataly c sensor detectors – disables the
lock protec ng cataly c sensor against overload),
• switching detectors into “inhibit" mode (it allows for a temporary deac va on of selected Gas
Detectors); the detector in “inhibit” mode will be ignored by the System (see NOTES in table
12),
• detector parameter changes, e.g. alarm thresholds, noise gateway level, zeroing the detector,
• tes ng device outputs, user’s interface.
Events history – logging of events related to the system opera on.
Safety – two access levels for persons who change parameters, password-protected.
It has an extension slot for adding modules to extend exis ng func onalists, e.g.:
• RS-485 output module for communica on with DCS or SCADA,
• system opera on visualiza on module based on a website – Ethernet accessible.
Sigma Control L Unit is designed for indoor use. It cannot be installed in explosion (Ex) zones.
2 Opera!on descrip!on
Sigma Control L Unit reads the status of detectors connected to the system. This informa on is presented
on the display and the built-in Visual System Indicator. Based on gas concentra on measured and other
special statuses (e.g. failures), it controls outputs for visual and acous c indicators as well as for dual
outputs. Control Unit reads the status of dual input and depending on its status, controls system opera on
(enables or disables outputs). During opera on, the unit runs cyclic self-diagnos c procedures used to
detect any damage to Sigma Control L Unit and detectors.
Op onally, the system status image can be accessed externally via a digital connec on (by using op onal
Extension Module). It makes it possible to connect external systems, or visualiza on panels. In addi on, the
user’s interface allows the operator to give system commands and change its opera on parameters.
The whole system uses modern electronic solu ons, while the manufacturer has made every effort to
provide a high quality and reliable product.
