Not all malfunctions are caused by actual defects. You can save time and money if you can diagno-
se and remedy simple faults yourself. When the ”Error tone” function is switched on, operating
errors are signalled audibly on your Eurit 40. The following list helps you to remedy certain faults
yourself.
Caution:
If any repairs are necessary have them performed by a specialist.
Do not under any circumstances open your telephone set.
Handset off-hook (picked up), no dial tone or busy tone
Unplug the connection cable and plug it in again.
Instead of a dial tone you hear a dual tone (alternately high/low)
Your telephone is forwarded.
Display is blank
– Your telephone may be operating in emergency mode.
– The ISDN connection has no power. Check the fuse in the mains fuse box of your residence.
In the card file you have programmed names and telephone numbers but only
the number is shown instead of the name
Did you enter an area code for each telephone number in the card file?
Ringing tone is delayed
Switch off the ringing delay in the
Settings
menu.
The telephone doesn’t ring
Ringing tone is switched off (Volume 0). Switch on ringing tone.
Your partner cannot hear you
– Is the handset cable plugged in correctly?
– Has the Microphone mute key been activated?
Time display flashes
Your telephone set is signalling a power failure. Re-enter the time (manually or automatically).
Display shows
not subscribed to
Has CUG been activated even though this facility is not included in the subscription?
