When Eurit 40 is used in conjunction with a PBX, a number of special aspects have to be taken into
consideration. For detailed information on the subsequent points refer to the user's guide of your
PBX.
Entering the external line access number
When Eurit 40 is operated on a PBX it may be necessary to program an exchange line access num-
ber, e.g. so that the numbers the caller lists are dialled correctly.

If you have programmed an exchange line access number, the telephone numbers in the card
file have to be entered with a pre-dial digit but without external line access number.
If you enter a telephone number manually you must enter also the external line access number
(regardless of the programming described above).
Deleting incoming external line access number
In the menu
Settings/Miscellaneous/PBX/telecom system
you will find the function
incoming No: >NO<
. With certain PBX installations, the external line access number is placed
before the telephone number of the caller. The telephone number on your Eurit 40 will therefore
have one digit too many, usually a ”0”. By pressing ”YES”, the digit can be removed and the iden-
tification with the card file is correctly restored.
Call transfer (ECT) by on-hook
When Eurit 40 is operated on a PBX, you can interconnect calls by placing the handset on-hook.
This function is not supported by all PBXs. In the factory default setting the function ”Call transfer
(ECT) by on-hook” is switched off.
– ”Call transfer (ECT) by on-hook”
active
means: The call is transferred when the handset is
placed on-hook.
– ”Call transfer (ECT) by on-hook”
switched off
means: The current call is terminated when the
handset is placed on-hook, the call on hold is signalled.
