When loading a trailer properly, two
items are critical: Gross Trailer Weight
(the weight of the trailer plus cargo)
and Trailer Tongue Weight.
Trailer Tongue Weight is the down-
ward force exerted on the hitch by the
trailer coupler when the trailer is fully
loaded and the coupler is at its normal
towing height.
Always maintain a slow speed when
trailering and towing and avoid sudden
accelerations, quick maneuvers, and
sudden stops. Braking distance will be
affected when towing a trailer. When
towing a trailer, always maintain slow
speed and allow more stopping dis-
tance than when not towing a trailer.
TRANSPORTING TRV
When transporting the TRV, Arctic Cat
recommends that the ATV be in its nor-
mal operating position (on all four
wheels) and the following procedure be
used.
1. Engage the brake lever lock.
2. Secure the ATV with load rated
hold-down straps.
NOTE: Suitable hold-down
straps are available from your Arc-
tic Cat ATV dealer. Ordinary rope is
not recommended because it can
stretch under load.
FUEL-OIL-LUBRICANT
Recommended Fuel
The recommended fuel to use is bio-
diesel blend up to 20% (B20), #1 or #2
diesel fuel, or JP 5 or JP 8 turbine fuel.
At temperatures above -10° C (14° F),
use #2 diesel fuel or a biodiesel blend
up to 20%. At temperatures at or below
-10° C (14° F), use #1 diesel fuel. Die-
sel fuel with a minimum cetane number
below 42 should not be used.
! WARNING
Make sure that the load in the
trailer is properly secured and will
not shift while moving. Also, do not
overload the trailer.
! WARNING
Never exceed any of the recom-
mended weight restrictions.
! WARNING
Riding this ATV without extra cau-
tion when towing a trailer will be
hazardous. Trailer towing can affect
the handling and braking of the
ATV. Tow only at a low speed never
exceeding 10 mph. Avoid sudden
accelerations and stopping of the
ATV. Do not make quick maneu-
vers. Avoid uneven surfaces and
do not tow on hills. Never carry
passengers in a trailer unless the
trailer is designed for such use and
has a rigid tow bar. Allow more
stopping distance than when not
towing a trailer.
CAUTION
When using hold-down straps, care
must be taken not to damage the
ATV.
CAUTION
When transporting the ATV, make
sure the brake lever lock is
engaged and the ATV is properly
secured.
CAUTION
Never use biodiesel blends at tem-
peratures at or below -10° C (14° F).
