Remove the rocking lever.
Removing the valves
NOTE
THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURE REFERS TO ONE CYLINDER BUT IS VALID FOR BOTH.
•
Remove the control rocker of the exhaust valves and remove the camshaft.
NOTE
BEFORE REMOVING THE CYLINDER HEAD COMPONENTS (VALVES, VALVE SPRINGS, CAPS
AND BUCKET TAPPETS), MAKE SURE THAT THE VALVES ARE PROPERLY CLOSED AND
SEALED.
CAUTION
WHEN REMOVING THE COMPONENTS, MARK THE POSITION OF EACH PART VERY CARE-
FULLY IN ORDER TO PLACE THEM IN THEIR ORIGINAL POSITION UPON FITTING.
•
Remove both pads (1) on both exhaust
valves.
•
Remove both bucket tappets (2) and
both pads under them on the intake
valves.
•
Use the valve springs compressor and
the valve springs compressor adaptor
to remove the valve cotters.
