Chapter 6. Maintain the chassis

To reset the Primary Controller:
1. Gently insert the straightened paper clip into the pinhole on the
Primary Controller
,
which is the controller in the lower slot on the back of the chassis.
2. Press and hold the end of the paper clip against the interior Reset Switch on the
controller.
3. Observe that the rate of flashing on the LED for the controller rapidly increases.
Press and hold
the paper clip in the pinhole until the LEDs stop flashing.
If you remove the paper clip before
the LEDs stop flashing
, a reset has
not
occurred and
you must repeat the process.
4. When the LEDs stop flashing and the LED displays as a steady or solid green light on
the Primary Controller,
release the interior Reset Switch
and remove the paper clip.
This reboots the Primary Controller and resets it to factory defaults.
5. If there is only a single controller used in the chassis, go to the section
on page 82 to complete the recovery process.
Reset the Secondary Controller
If a Secondary Controller is installed in the chassis, continue the recovery process as
follows.

To reset the Secondary Controller:
1. Reinstall the Secondary Controller in the top controller slot of the chassis.
2. Wait for the status LEDs on
the Secondary Controller
to begin flashing in sync with each
other.
CAUTION
Take care to insert the paper clip only into the slot provided in the controller, and
not
into the power supply or the power plug located on the power supply.
